McIntosh MX124 A/V Processor
A NEW STANDARD IN LUXURY HOME THEATER
The MX124 A/V Processor invites you to experience cinematic excellence in the McIntosh way: where engineering excellence meets the art of storytelling so that everything is connected and nothing is compromised. With 13.4 channels of immersive audio, stunning 8K Ultra HD clarity, and the vivid realism of advanced HDR, the MX124 transforms every viewing into an event. With the latest in advanced processing and a design built for performance, it delivers a level of home entertainment that is unmistakably McIntosh.
UNMATCHED IMMERSIVE AUDIO WITH FOUR SUBWOOFERS
The MX124 places you squarely at the center of the action with 13.4 channels of powerful, precise audio. Its 13 audio channels and 4 subwoofer outputs allow for immersive configurations such as 7.4.6 or 9.4.4, creating a sonic environment where every detail, from the softest whisper to the deepest bass impact, is fully realized. Its 4 dedicated subwoofer outputs are twice as many as the previous model, delivering an even more impactful bass performance.
Compatible with today’s leading surround formats – including Dolby® Atmos, DTS:X® Pro, Sony 360 Reality Audio, and MPEG-H Audio – the MX124 ensures studio‑grade accuracy. Nine 32‑bit audiophile-grade DACs provide pristine digital-to-analog conversion, while bass and treble controls allow you to tailor the system to your personal listening preferences.
STUNNING, TRUE-TO-LIFE PICTURE QUALITY
To bring your visual world to life, the MX124 features 7 HDMI inputs and 3 HDMI outputs (including one with eARC1), all supporting 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz2 resolutions. Two HDMI outputs serve the main video zone, with the third output allowing independent video playback in a second zone.
Every HDMI port is engineered to deliver the very best in video performance with compatibility with High Dynamic Range (HDR) formats Dolby Vision™, HDR10+, and HLG for exceptional depth, contrast, and color accuracy on a scene-by-scene or even a frame-by-frame basis. The MX124 is also IMAX® Enhanced for elevated picture precision and powerful, theater‑grade sound.
Additional advanced HDMI features include: HDCP 2.3; Rec. 2020; 4:4:4 Color Spacing; Dynamic Lip-sync; 3D Video Passthrough; Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM); Quick Frame Transport (QFT); and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).
STATE-OF-THE-ART ROOM CORRECTION
To ensure the MX124 performs flawlessly in your environment, it includes Dirac Live® Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control (all licenses included). Dirac Live Room Correction analyzes your room, adapts to its acoustics, and corrects anomalies for unmatched clarity and imaging.
Dirac Live Bass Control is a specialized algorithm that runs alongside Dirac Live Room Correction to optimize bass performance of a home audio system and to manage the interaction between the subwoofers and speakers. This results in tight, balanced bass that is consistent throughout the space and eliminates “boomy” or uneven low frequency performance.
With Dirac Live Bass Control, the MX124 not only doubles the number of subwoofer outputs compared to the previous model – it also delivers significantly greater bass precision and control for a more refined, impactful low‑frequency experience. The MX124 also features Audyssey MultEQ® XT32 room correction, giving you the flexibility to calibrate with either system and choose the correction you prefer.
ENGINEERED FOR EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE
The MX124 reflects McIntosh’s unwavering focus on audio performance. It utilizes a proven HDMI solution chosen for reliability and seamless compatibility with today’s entertainment sources, and everything else including the audio architecture is designed and engineered by McIntosh.
Proprietary analog and digital audio circuitry, audiophile-grade DACs, advanced analog output stages, meticulous signal routing, and thoughtfully engineered power supply designs work together to reveal remarkable levels of detail and realism. Backed by more than 75 years of engineering expertise, the MX124 delivers the refinement, performance, and reliability expected from a luxury home entertainment system.
INSTALLER-FOCUSED DESIGN
The MX124 is certified Connects with Control4® with the implementation of their Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP). This allows it to be effortlessly integrated into Control4 automation systems to further enhance the user experience and minimize installation time.
