Vinyl remains one of the most important and beloved mediums for audio reproduction. Thats why refinement and improvement of our phono stages is an ongoing concern at Vitus Audio. After completing redevelopment of our MP-P201 from the Masterpiece Series we turned our attention to the SP-103 and decided to introduce a raft of improvements introduced in that project to our Signature Series phono stage.
Experience resolution, micro dynamics, macro dynamics and pure musicality, unheard of in any other phono stage at this price point. This could be the last phono stage you ever buy.
CONTROL AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
With the SP-103 we introduced a modular design allowing for future upgrades to be performed with ease. We also introduced an external power supply which offered a vastly lowered noise floor in the signal chain. For this iteration, we took everything we learned and developed for the MP-P201 Mk.II and optimized to fit the technology into a reduced chassis size.
The SP-103 supports mono cartridges and its formidable performance is further enhanced by the external power supply. Load and gain settings are determined either from the front of the unit, or via an optional remote control. The step-up gain stage employs an Active Moving Coil and the maximum of 75dB will support most very low-output MC cartridges and facilitates perfect matching with output voltages ranging from 125uV – 16mV.
The customer can specify the load steps at the time of purchase. In short, despite our confident predictions at the launch of its distinguished predecessor, the resolution, micro-dynamics and pure musicality of the SP-103 are simply second to none in the industry.
Most importantly, all load and gain settings can be set via the optional remote control with no need to exchange boards manually. Quite frankly, this unit is a titan in the space of phono stages offering the blackest of black backgrounds from which your favorite recordings can emerge untainted and impeccable.
